Aside from the fact that you can read what you want - novels, academic texts, newspapers, magazines, blogs, etc... - you can read them when you want - on the subway or train, on a plane, even on the beach, basically anywhere.
If your travelling a long distance, on business or just vacation you can bring up to a hundred and forty books with you! Not that you'll necessarily read them all, but why not have the selection? I have 5000 songs on my iPod and I only listen to a fraction of them. Why? Because what IF...what if I want tolisten to some random song that was a favorite years ago? It is the same with books.
Unlike your computer screen you can look at an electronic book reader with out the fear of hurting your eyes. This is due to the new e-ink technology which is essentially liquid paper. Plus, with an e-ink screen you can even read in the dark! Electronic readers such as the Amazon kindle and the Sony Reader have a backlit screen so you can read easily in any lighting conditions.
